Global Dimming

I am getting a bit concerned about pan evapouration rates and the haze around Bahrain.

but.. do you think that anyone that could do something cares? i wonder about this.

well, anyone who cares can do something...there certainly is rising awareness of the problem....amonst the fashionistas it is v.cool to be carbon neutral (they measure the amount of carbon monoxide you produce and then plant enough trees to cover your output)...everyone wants a hybrid car...al gore is considered a movie star...things are changing, for sure...but it is the extent of the problem and how long they have been hiding it from us that i worry about...was watching a programme on the BBC about the rapidly diminishing permafrost and the amount of carbon that will release in to the atmosphere...great, as if we don't have enough to worry about, here comes another massive load of CO2 from a couple of million years ago...then again, they are building a nuclear power plant less than 200km from here (and we already have a large concentration of petrochemical factories 100km in the other direction) so maybe it is the acid rain we should be worried about...or the fact that they are building a nuclear power plant in a region that has a rather active geotectonic history...or the new baggage retrieval system they have at heathrow...
